Things to do while in Bloomington!

This is going to be an exciting week! If you're looking for things to do while you are visiting, here are some campus events we're excited to share here:

• Monday, March 23rd, at 5pm: IU participants and attendees, GSAC and the IU Department of English invite you to participate in our second reading group on the work of keynote speaker Dr. Jonathan Hsy of The George Washington University. The event will be held in the College Arts & Humanities Institute (CAHI) at 1211 East Atwater Avenue. This meeting will cover Dr. Hsy's recent book Trading Tongues: Merchants, Multilingualism, and Medieval Literature (Columbus: Ohio State University Press, 2013). We will focus on the introduction, chapters 2 and 4, and the coda, but the whole book is up for discussion.The book is freely available as an electronic resource to IU, Bloomington students and faculty at http://www.iucat.iu.edu/. If you have any difficulty accessing the book, or have any other questions, please let us know. • Thursday-Saturday, 10am-5pm: Check out "Dada and Constructivism: World War I and Radical Modernism" at the Indiana University Museum of Art (just a 5 minute walk from the Indiana Memorial Union!)  This installation explores the impact of World War I on the development of the European and American avantgarde in the late 1910s and early 1920s.

• Thursday-Saturday, 1:30pm-5pm: We encourage you to visit "Secret Impressions: The Reproduction of Erotica Prior to the Camera" at IU's famed Kinsey Institute. More on the exhibit can be found here: http://kinseyinstitute.org/.
• Thursday, March 26th, evening: Some of the conference organizers will be meeting up at Atlas Ballroom following the graduate student roundtable. Join us for a beer if you'd like!

• Thursday, March 26th, at 7pm: Showing of Ray Bradbury's It Came from Outer Space (1953) at the IU Cinema. Event is free but ticketed! • Friday, March 27 at 8:30pm: Take some time to relax after the keynote address, then meet us at Oliver Downtown Bar to mix and mingle with conference attendees and participants.
